When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I suppose it all began at a very early age. I was always writing bits and pieces since childhood, but actual songwriting came a little later, say early 20’s. And the thing is, I left a career in the Army in order to pursue a career in music. That’s how much it means to me. Soldier to singer in a heartbeat…

How would you describe your music?

This is a tricky one. Thing is, I write my songs on acoustic guitar so they tend to write quite folky, but with the addition of certain instruments things tend to come on a bit rockier. My songwriting is definitely honest and passionate. As for the genre, I’ll leave this to the ‘labeling mongers’!

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

To date, I have released 2 EPs of original music (2012/2013). I plan to release my debut album “Independent” later this year. Currently I am looking forward to some live shows around the country with a full band on board. This is exciting!

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

NO DEBATE – Sinead O’Connor!
Why? Well firstly, she is one of my favourite artists. But her vocal is ridiculously great and I don’t think there is a song around that she wouldn’t do justice. She’s just amazing.
Can we arrange this? Someone!

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

The Queen is Dead by The Smiths!
This is my favourite record of all time. A classic from start to finish. Not a bad track on there at all. I would bring it for the wit, for the melancholia (everyone needs a bit of that), for the depth and for the outstanding melodies and lyrics!
