How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

The three of us met at school when and started playing music together at the age of thirteen, in Phil’s (drummer) bedroom. After that we each went in our own musical directions, I (Dave) was playing in a trash metal band, Luke was playing solo with an acoustic and loop pedal, Ed Sheeran style and phil was also drumming in a metal band. We came back together in recent times to form Solsara, the name doesn’t mean anything in particular, it’s purely our name. We’ve all come along way since we started playing together years ago.

How would you describe your music?

We’d describe our music as a unique blend of rock, indie, funk and a sprinkle of psychedelia. We draw influence from bands such as Kasabian, as every track on a record has something different to contribute to the overall sound.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

So far we’ve spent copious amounts of time in our practice room perfecting our sound and writing new material. We have played a few shows to test the water with our sound, they have been a great success, and the future is looking bright.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Our ideal artist to duet with would probably be Avicii as we have always thought that the catchy hooks and energy we use in our music would work brilliantly with his style and it would be great to introduce a EDM aspect into a new tune.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

If we had to agree on taking one album to a desert island it would be Kasabian’s first album, the self-titled one. We’d choose this because it’s a classic! Again, every track has something different and interesting to contribute to the album. They’re style of writing makes it almost impossible to get bored.
