Fast Five: Charlie Lankester

MTTM

Triangle

When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I started making music when I was about five, with my sisters.  We used to bang on an old piano which was also a pianola and had the song Side by Side.  When I left school I studied medicine and was for many years an osteopath.

How would you describe your music?

It’s a life and death struggle for the soul of the human race.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We’ve been doing shows round London and are doing a UK tour in December.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Bob Dylan. Because he’s The Man.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

Hard Rain. Because it’s all there: life, death, love, disappointment, pain and redemption, and it has Idiot Wind and Mick Ronson playing guitar.
