How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

We met in Amsterdam, there is a lively music scene of jazz, classical and pop musicians all collaborating, the city is very small so its easy to meet musicians. Through conservatory or at jam-sessions. We started our own music evening in an Italian Restaurant, inviting many musician to play every week. We started singing together, the restaurant went bankrupt but we continued to sing. After the singing came the writing of songs, we all had ideas, we combined them. A Snowapple is an apple picked very late in the harvesting season, we liked the image of the last apples, still dangling on a tree while everything is white. Almost like they had been forgotten.

How would you describe your music?

We combine many styles, pop, folk, jazz, opera, contemporary music. The voices are the core of the sound, that makes it possible to combine all the different genres that we like!

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We have released two albums, we have toured a lot, we went to the US four times, to Mexico and we love coming to the UK, we go at least 5 times a year. We have toured and recorded all around Europe. What’s next? Our UK summer tour is coming up in July, with a cool show on the 8th of July at The Old Blue Last in London. And then? Japan! Brazil! South Africa!

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

With Joni Mitchell, she is a great inspiration and we wish her all the best.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

The Good The Bad and The Ugly: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The drama and pathos of this music moves us every time!
