Lauren was born and raised in Oxford, and is a little bit in love with the city and all it has to offer. She can consistently be found in one of Oxford’s several fine music venues, watching some band or other, and she loves Radiohead just about as much as any local girl should. Having been brought up listening to Frank Zappa, Leonard Cohen and The Velvet Underground, amongst other greats, she developed an interest for music early on. However, the first band she truly loved, beginning age 12 or 13, was Nirvana. As any obsessive fan-girl will, she devoured every piece of information on the band that she could find, and can probably still spout you a few obscure facts about Kurt Cobain.
Although she is already lucky enough to write professionally, albeit for a somewhat soul-destroying corporation, Lauren is currently studying Freelance Music Journalism part-time, with the London School of Journalism, with hopes of someday getting paid to write about music. When she’s not otherwise engaged with writing and watching or listening to music, she enjoys talking nonsense at her dog and writing about herself in the third person.
