Robin Gibb: 22nd December 1949 – 20th May 2012
Robin Gibb, one third of genre and era defining musical group Bee Gees has passed away. Gibb has suffered with colon and liver cancer and was recently comatose due to his ailments but sadly lost his fight with the disease. He was 62.
Peter Jones: 21st April 1963 – 18th May 2012
Peter Jones the drummer with Crowded House has passed away. The drummer was summering with cancer. He was 45.
England’s Eurovision Failure
This weekend saw the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest take place. Sadly England’s entry from veteran performer Englebert Humperdink Love Will See You Free didn’t make the massive impact that we were hoping for with an overall score of 12 points. Sweden were the overall winners.

Golden Down Festival, Cloud 9 Festival, Titanic Lockdown Festival and Rough Beats Festival have all announced closures over the past few weeks.
RHCP Bridge Revealed
The location of the bridge from Red Hot Chili Peppers classic song Under The Bridge has been revealed. The bridge is reportedly situated in MacArthur Park in LA.
Elton John Cancels Shows
Elton John has had to cancel a week of live shows due to a sudden bout of repertory problems. The Tiny Dancer singer was rushed to Cedar-Sinai hospital which led to the singer cancelling four shows of his Las Vegas residency to be cancelled.
Matt Cardle Dropped
X Factor winner Matt Cardle has been dropped by record label Columbia. He has joined the ranks of previous winners Steve Brookstein, Leon Jackson and Joe McElderry.
Doherty to Record Winehouse’s Lyrics
Pete Doherty has revealed he will be using Amy Winehouse’s lyrics on his new record.
Flaming Lips Record Breaking Attempt
The Flaming Lips are attempting to break the record for most live performances in various cities which was previously set by Jay-Z. The record currently stands at seven shows in seven cities. The record attempt will take places on June 27th.
Funeral For A Friend Say Goodbye to Drummer
Ryan Richards, the drummer with Funeral for a Friend has left the band. Richards spoke of his departure saying “After ten wonderful, enriching, emotional and fascinating years being a part of Funeral For A Friend – I’ve decided to hang up my drum sticks. I’ve always put music first in my life – but the time has come now for my family to take the top spot, after patiently waiting and supporting me for the last 10 years and more. I’m stoked to have my good friend Pat Lundy step into my vacant drumstool. There’s not a better drummer than Pat for the job.” He has been replaced by Pat Lundy who formally played with Rise to Remain. FFAF have spoken out about Richards departure “We give Ryan our full support and wish him the best in his future endeavours. Now, before you all start running around on the internet ringing the death bells for our band we just wanted to say that we’re extremely excited to announce that Pat Lundy will filling the drummer’s seat and will be kicking asses and taking names from here on in.”
