Preview: Cambridge Folk Festival 2017

For anyone who knows the Indigo Girls, they’ll appreciate that a UK festival performance is a massive coo for a duo that has only played over here sporadically in recent years. In fact, it’s been almost a decade since they were on British soil (and I should know, because I went to see them for my 21st birthday).

Cambridge Folk Festival has a reputation for bringing not only traditional British and Irish folk acts both new and established to its stages but also some of the biggest names in American folk, and this year it certainly hasn’t disappointed. Not only the Indigo’s but a return visit for Loudon Wainwright III and Beth Nielsen Chapman, who performs as part of a trio with Olivia Newton John and Amy Sky. Kris Drever, Lisa Hannigan, Lau and the Martin Simpson round out what is truly a stellar line up this year by anyone’s standards. Check out the poster below for all currently announced performers:

Some weekend and day tickets are still available from www.cambridgelivetrust.co.uk/folk-festival but act quickly because tickets are likely to sell out.
