How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

Graces was something I started in the summer of this year, and been building on since them. I’ve been obsessed with the idea of music as religion, and the shows as Sunday church services, so I wanted the name to reflect that a bit. Graces can also be considered the qualities needed to gain salvation, so I thought a big title like that would be a nice contrast to my songs about screwing everything up.

How would you describe your music?

Hooky pop music with guitars, synths and an honest sentiment. All my writing is really informed by my love of cinema and the atmosphere that you can find in films, so I wanted to make music that was as dramatic and visceral as that.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

I recently recorded my debut EP and will be releasing it on November 13th which I’m really excited about. Last week the video for the song ‘Amber’ was released and some of the tracks on the EP are available for streaming on soundcloud. I can’t wait for the EP to come out and see what people think of it, then get some live shows on the cards.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

It would have to be Prince, just so I could tell everyone that I met Prince. I think I would probably end up just standing there and watching him do his thing, That would be rad though.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

That’s the hardest question in the world, but if I had to choose one right this second it would probably be Deja Entendu by Brand New, I would take their album The Devil and God are raging inside me but I’d end up getting too depressed.
