Fast Five: Larry Gordon
When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?
I started making music when I was about 12 years old. My dad had a studio and he would leave for lunch and I would go mess with his tracks and mess up his session. He would get upset but he knew I was serious. So one summer I came home from a family trip and the rest is history.
Yes, if it wasn’t music. I think I definitely would have been playing sports or something dealing with that.
How would you describe your music?
My music is “Feel Good Music”. It takes you to a place where you forget your problems, and everything that is going on around you. It allows you to let the music consume you and take control. I would say be ready for a ride.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
Lately, I have been working on my new EP and always writing new songs. Over the next few months you can expect to hear more music from me, and I pray, see me on more concert tours.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Bruno Mars. I think we would come up with something very unique and timeless.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
I would say Usher – Confessions. It never gets old to me. Literally, all you have to do is press play and listen to a well produced and written album.
