How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
We are a sibling band so I guess we all met on 3rd of May 1995 when Abi (Baby Orfila) was born! We decided on calling the band ORFILA because it’s personal to us and unique!
How would you describe your music?
We play our own brand of country music with a focus on three part harmonies and relatable lyrics.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
This year has been quite busy for us so far! We supported UK country singer Hank Wangford earlier in the year, we played at the O2 Arena for Country 2 Country and we have played a number of gigs in Kent and in London. We are playing at Buckle and Boots Festival in June, we are nominated for 3 UK Country Music Awards and will be celebrating our five year anniversary by performing a special show on 7th July at the Penny Theatre in Canterbury.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
Matt: My favourite country artist is Brad Paisley so I would have to say him!
Lou: If I could duet with anybody… I’d have to go with Dolly! She is such a musical inspiration to me and it is something I’ve always dreamt of.
Abi: I would have to say James Bay because I love his voice and I think he’s super talented!
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
Matt: I’ve been asked this question a number of times and I always find it difficult to answer but if I HAD to pick my favourite album it would be Eric Church- Sinners Like Me. It’s one of those rare albums that I’d say is perfect. Great songwriting, great musicianship and not one song that I skip over.
Lou: Oooo that’s a tough one has I have many favourites… but I would have to say Shania Twain’s album ‘Up’. It reminds me of growing up and I love each song on that album.
Abi: I would say Maren Morris just because I like every song on that album and I can relate to her songs. The lyrics are quirky and different and I just don’t get bored of her songs.
