Gerry Goffin: 1939 – 2014

Gerry Goffin, the man behind such classic songs like Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, has passed away. The lyricist was once married to his song writing collaborator Carole King. He was 75.

Album News

Vashti Bunyan will be releasing a new album in October ahead of a four date tour.

The final recording from Benjamin Curtis will be released. Curtis recorded a cover version of Joey Ramones I Got Knocked Down (But I’ll Get Up) before he died. It will be released by his former band School of Seven Bells.

Courteeners new album Concrete Love will be released on the 18th of August.

It’s A Girl

Kelly Clarkson and her husband have welcomed a baby girl. Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock have named the baby River Rose Blackstock. Congratulations.

Man Dies at Festival

A young man was attacked at the Parklife Weekender Festival on June 7th. Robert Hart was said to be protecting his girlfriend who was being persistently bothered by another reveller with an inflatable toy. The suspect in this murder case is still at large. If you have any information you should contact Greater Manchester Police.

Michael Jackson Sued

You would think it would be hard to sue someone who has been dead for five years, however, a fan of Michael Jackson is pursuing legal action as she claims that it is not Michael Jackson singing on his new album. The as-of-yet unnamed fan claims that it is not the prince of pop singing on his 2010 release, Michael. If her case is successful then all fans that purchased the album are legally at right to seek compensation.

Congratulations

Tom Fletcher from McFly was awarded with Marvel’s Dad of the Year award. Fletcher and his wife Giovanna welcomed their son Buzz earlier this year.
