It’s been more than 50 years that Cambridge Folk Festival has been merging a mix of folk, country and world music, delighting fans across the August bank holiday weekend. This year the line up promises yet more big name acts, combined with emerging stars across its four stages.
The first names offer a range of old festival favourites including Irish legend Christy Moore and Mary Chapin Carpenter, whose new album The Things That We Are Made Of promises to offer heartfelt ballads. Rockabilly sensation Imelda May will bring her uptempo tracks to ensure the crowd finds its dancing feet, and Kate Rusby returns after delighting the crowd with her secret slot during the festivals 50th anniversary year.
Free from his Bellowhead duties, Jon Boden provides a solo set, and is set to wow the crowd with his intricate fiddling, and Quebec band Le Vent du Nord return after their last slot back in 2013.
