Saturday 28th September saw Trentham Gardens host their first ever Woodgate Festival, and even though it was a soggy affair, pop fans didn’t seem to blame it on the weatherman as they braved the wet and muddy conditions to relive a big old dose of nineties and noughties nostalgia.

Thousands flocked to the gardens near Stoke on Trent and relived their youth rocking nineties-inspired fashions, hairdos and swipes of glitter at the pop festival; while enjoying the likes of 5ive, Lolly, and Blazin Squad.

Ben Ofoedu, of Phats & Small fame had everyone up and dancing by performing a host of dance classics. The party really got going though when Liverpudlian hitmakers Atomic Kitten took to the stage, with fans joining in with hits such as Whole Again and Right Now.

Boyband favourites A1 may be more of a ‘manband’ now, but still pulled off energetic dance routines during songs like Same Old Brand New You and Take On Me. They also gave a beautifully heartfelt performance of Like A Rose and proved that they clearly still had the hearts of many in the audience.

Rounding off the night were lively girlband B*Witched, who managed to keep everyone entertained and dancing in the heavy rain. Many also found their headline slot amusing as they performed two songs that seemed more than appropriate for the waterlogged conditions, Blame It On The Weatherman and C’est La Vie.
